Twitching Muscle: Is it Common?

Its been a rough 3 days as I have been expierencing the same muscle (front part of shoulder to bicep) twitching almost continuously for 3 days/nights now.I'm wondering if this is common, or as it has been for me for the past year has been a few twitches calf and then a few on thigh and then some on bicep. Its never been this long on the same muscle. Its driving me crazy.

My left calf muscle has been twitching literally non-stop since July 2008. I have thousands of twitches an hour in that calf, it never stops or slows down, and actually increases after I exercise. I also get random twitches all over my body, but they come and go.

does your calf get sore/fatigued from twitching all time?Sometimes it feels like I worked out my left shoulder when the only "work out" has been the twitching.

It does not really get fatigued, but it does feel sore sometimes. This happens primarily after a physical activity or exercise. I also sometimes get nocturnal cramps, and what I call mini cramps during the day that I can best describe as what feels like the muscle pulling or tightening, but it releases after 3-4 seconds. Maybe it's just a long twitch - I don't really know.

I get hot spots ilke you describe, often in shoulder, biceps or triceps that last several days or lnoger. I have twitched in the calves, especially the right, just like mtnbiker, since Sep 08 and latterly this has been associated with pain and acheing with stiffness too... very disconcerting but completely benign I am sureRegardsSimon

Doesnt get any better 5 years non stop. If i was born with this it would be normal...after 5 years i think i'm getting there

finally after 6 days of on/off twitching left shoulder it looks like it has stopped. Now I'm wondering what if anything specilic could have caused it. I only did some pushups last monday nite before bed when it started. I have not done any push ups since....
