okay, new tongue thing.i have had flutters on my left side...i have seen one twitch in my mouth after i felt a buzzing but today my tongue twitched and i got up from where i was sitting and saw it going in the mirror. it is in the meaty part of the tongue and it went on for about 5 twitches...then i moved it... it stopped...then it started again. i just called my doc and left a message. i am freaking out.

I am sure mine has done the same thing many but I didn't look. I feel the same sensations in my tongue at times as I do all over my body and the ones on my body are associated with twitching you can see so it doesn't take a genius to figure out that the same phenomenon is going on everywhere. I off to my doctor's appointment in about an hour. I hope it's a positive visit.

Hi BK,I have my share of twitching/contractions/buzzing/ strange sensations on the tongue (and some even in my throat!). I too find it the hardest and the most annoying symptom to deal with. You've been having this for a few months now with no progression (more twitching doesn't mean it is progressing!!), thus you must believe that this is benign. Please try to remain positive, since time IS on your side. Just look around and see how many of us with the exact same tongue symptoms - some have had it for YEARS. My neuro claims that these are not even fasics, but rather abnormal tongue movements that "we may never know what causes them".Jro, good luck today with the neuro. It seems you are in great hands and I can't wait to hear what he has to say about this whole thing...May

May is right, they are abnormal tongue movements, not fasics related to disease. I have the bizzare, vibrating sympotms on the tongue, often. I have had episodes that are far from sensations, visible, big twitches on the tongue, like thumpers you get on your legs, but on the tongue, you can see them from 10ft away. One episode lasted 6 weeks, another two, the Neurologist saw it, and was not at all concerned.

you guys promise your neuro's werent concerned? my twitches were big and nasty ( well they were in the area of about the size of a nickel )- and they were definately visible and i could feel them -- creepy
