Tongue Twitches and Shaking

Hi I have a question.
I have had tongue twitches and eyelid twitches for awhile.

My question is about my tongue. I have been to the nuerologist and he says my tongue is OK. But when I press the tip of my tongue into the back of my bottom teeth my tongue shakes like crazy. (almost looks like a bag of worms.) Should I go back to the doctor. Is this a sign of weakness. Myhusbands tongue doesn't do this. Also at the tip of the tongue in the middle it looks thinner in the middle.

Help I am worrried Again. Any advice.

Mindy

Hi Mindy,
I get this too - for a while, whenever I stuck my tongue out of my mouth, it shook like crazy (wobbled left, right and center) and it just eventually went away. Then it came back for a bit, then it went away again. It is all part of BFS - hopefully, your neuro has given you an EMG test to determine if this is in fact, BFS.
God Bless, Mark

What u describe is not tongue weakness.

Tongue weakness is when u cant speak right. When u are slurring as if u are drunk. When u have problems swallowing cause the tongue does not function right.

If one has tongue weakness others point that out, cause it is obvious because of the difficulty speaking normally.

What u describe is a twiching (bag of worms) of the tongue. Maybe it isnt even a twitching but only a situation where u're tongue is somehow moving when pressure is applied on it.

I wouldnt worry.

But as i said, dont test it and go on. U're symptoms wouldnt concern a neuro. Actually they didnt as u have been to one and he didnt find anything wrong.

If u start thinking what if and maybe then u will start getting anxious, maybe start a variety of tests and then u'll get a mess.

Most of us have done so and have found that symptoms start getting worse as soon as we start thinking constantly about this could be disease that doesnt have a cure and honestly nothing can be done against it. So dont worry about it at the first place.

Hope i am now better understood.
