Thanks for the reassurance, Jenn! I feel better now!

Are Jenn & I the only ones who's muscles shake like crazy upon flexing?
It would be great if others could share on this subject!

Cheers,
Garth P.S.--Morris_M, leave Jenn alone!

Hi

I find that whenever I hold anything with an outstretched arm for any length of time (even something light), my arm muscles start shaking like they've been put under real stress.

Also I can relate to the "overall wierdness" in the hands. One of my hands keeps getting tingly feelings one minue, crampy feelings the next. Also fingers feel strange. Keep thinking it feels weak, but when I squeeze other peoples' hands, they say my grip is stronger with this hand!

Dont worry I know we are not the only ones as people reassured me in the beginning. I know Morris_M has it, you can look him up. I know SuzieQ had it. Actually just look up my old posts and you will see the responses to mine. I am sure alot of people will chime in and tell you soon...Jenn

I've have that, more so with my left arm than right. Sometimes it's worse than others. I showed it to my neuro and he didn't think anything of it. I'm also a golfer and ever since my symptoms started, if I hit a lot of balls on the practice range my left arm shakes from the exertion.

It hasn't gotten any worse over the months so I'm not overly concerned about it.

Don't you hate it! I get my shaking when I'm teaching Pilates, especially plank position. I hold it and shake like a tree. Then after, my biceps and triceps get to twitching away like they are ticked off that I disrupted them.

That's what my muscles are- disgruntled and crabby

It is so frustrating that it is silly! I can't even squeeze the toothpaste out of the tube without shaking like a leaf on a tree. You'd think that I was trying to use my muscles to stop a locomotive.
I've had this problem for nearly six years now. Two years ago it started to become more frequent and noticable. I've been to the neuro several times. Until this point I was diagnosed with essential tremor, but when the strange twitching and jerking of my left foot started the doctor was rather puzzled. I go in for a six month check up in two weeks. It has been since my last check up that I found this site. I will be asking my doctor about bfs.

six-
I used to shake just from dialing a push-button phone, it is SO common with bfs. In fact, I used to mistake my shaking for weakness and was afraid to walk or stand for any length of time.

And terry, my hubbie has bfs, in fact, he got it first. It seems somewhat common for husbands and wives to both have bfs. There have been a few others on the board who have reported their spouse twitching also.

Blessings,
Sue

Sure do! One day everything is hunky dory the next day I try to put on lip liner and there they go. It lasted for a while, but gradually decreased. Thank God for that!

Yup, lips, tongue, just about every part of me either shimmies or shakes. LOL. This is common, even in folks without bfs. If you watch people, you will see that they often shake, just like us.

I also get the ratcheting of my shoulders, trunk, legs, and jaw. Hate that.

All bfs, all benign, but disquieting in the beginning.

Trust me, once you make peace with it, it gets SO much better and you will barely notice it.

Blessings,
Sue
