Lip Twitching and Facial Activity

Hello everyone once again,
I've been getting lots of lip twitching and facial activity lately - I get multiple twitches in my lips, particularly at night when I'm relaxing getting ready to fall asleep. I'll get a twitch on the left side of the upper lip, then a few minutes later, a twitch on the right side of the bottom lip. Then a twitch on the left side of the bottom lip. All within a short period of time.

Sometimes during the day, I get a twitch in the chin which almost seems like it can move the bottom lip at times (still not sure if it does or not - haven't been in front of a mirror quick enough to check). My upper lip on the left side seems to be the most active lip twitch which I do get during the day at times.

Along with all this, my feet and calves go 24/7 and I've been getting recent activity in the left arm again with hands still trembling and fingers still shaky. Throat twitches a bit lately now, too. 8 months of BFS now. Saw the neuro again two days ago and he swears it is pure anxiety - not the slightest bit worried about me (you just can't help but wonder sometimes when a doctor attributes everything to anxiety - every single doctor I've seen thinks this is all anxiety-related).

My question is - does anyone else get multiple twitches in their lips in different locations like this? It's not a constant thing, it will come and go - sometimes goes away for 15 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes, sometimes doesn't happen at all.

Thanks very much,
God Bless,
Mark

Can't be of much help. My face is one of the few places I don't twitch.
Do you have any jaw problems, like TMJ or sinus problems, or how about neck problems. Take Care

Hey, I’m having a few beers and talking BFS on a wonderful Friday evening. It is really crazy that I came across your question tonight. Today was the first day I noticed twitching in my lips. I think I have had it before? But probably didn’t think too much about it knowing anything can twitch at any time. I can’t tell what twitched more (upper or lower lip) but I know for about five minutes my lips were going mad. F***ing BFS.

When I get twitches in the lip, eye area, cheek there are usually a few going at once and every few seconds for at least 20 hours straight so getting to a mirror to see if they are visible is NEVER a problem. Some are, some aren't. I am so grateful if it stops for 15 minutes day or night. It was all attributed to anxiety for 9 years until I went to a Centre for Movement Disorders and met a neuro there who says BFS and I am trying Tegretol. I also twitch body wide as well so quality of life and sleep are an issue.

Yeah, I get multiple twitches in more places than I care to count.

Yep, i get them in my lips frequently -- sometimes for days on end. And i also have one on the side of my nose that drives me crazy (in addition to pretty constant twitches in my hands and calves).

Thanks for the replies - I seem to get these multiple twitches a lot lately, on all different parts of my lips - upper and lower. I always thought that twitches mainly satyed in one area and didn't spread out like this but from the feedback here, it looks like some of us do get twitches in different spots on our lips within short periods of time.

Is there anyone else out there that gets different spots on their lips twitching within short periods of time?

Thanks again and God Bless,
Mark
