Left Arm Twitching Unresolved

Well, this morning I woke up with twitches to my left forearm, biceps and anterior shoulder.I didn't give it too much of a tought as in the past they did resolve, or better, reduce in intensity up to resolve in the following hours or changing position (see my post on back and arm twitches).Well, this time it feels very different and even the pattern is quite different. The twitches are powerful and they are there to stay, no matter what I'm doing with my arm. I also feel vibrations to my fingers and scattered twitches to the rest of the arm and shoulders.Just in the last 2 days the twitches to my right hand got worse.Abdominal and legs twitches are quite active too. There is also a tootache like pain, particularly to my left arm, but I felt it pretty much to all my limbs and back.6-8 hrs may be relatively little time to say, but this is something that in 19 months I've never experienced before.Any suggestion?Should I rethink my diagnosis and go back to my GP.For the occasion I've filmed the twitches. Easy to do as they do not stop. With the left arm this way I'm scared.

hi- i think you know from experience that this cycles through in so many weird ways... i would give it a few days because i am guessing it will "resolve" and move to some new spot in the way that it does so often. i also do not think the intensity of the twitches makes a difference in what your potential dx would be. i woke up this am because the bottom of my foot.toes were twitching in an out of control way...kept going that way for about an hour.each day brings something new. please try to not drive yourself nuts. thanks

Hi there,Recently I've been trying to stay away from this site since it really got me anxious, but I thought I'd post you just so you don't feel as if you're alone on this one. I'm going through the exact same thing right now. I am at my one year mark and my body is falling apart. I've been having speech issues as well for a whole year now (not on and off, but rather ON all the time, nonstop) – but that's a whole different story which I'm not about to get into nor do I think its BFS related. I twitch everywhere and have more hotspots than ever. My shoulder (deltoid muscle) has been twitching aggressively for nearly 3 weeks now. The minute I get up in the morning and make my first movement, that *beep* muscle starts going wild on me - and it's not the only muscle, but as you've mentioned I also felt that this was a different twitch, a deeper one and a lot more aggressive. I couldn't stand it so I got an EMG a few days ago (while twitching) and it was fine. The doctor (a professor) stuck the needle there for about 15 minutes. He could see the nerves "fire", but it was within the normal range. I've been cleared by many neuro's (2 of them are heads of neuromuscular departments) and had 2 (well now 3) clean EMG's.This is a true enigma, but I know it isn't ALS!By the way, the deltoid had subsided since yesterday… You're fine Edado, I promise you that :) May

I have had a twitch in my left forearm muscle for 6 weeks now. I do get random twitches in other parts of my body, but this one is consistently there. For about a week, it was twitching pretty much all day/night long. Now it is just sporatic off and on throughout the day/night. It is on the under side of my forearm from the elbow area all the way to my wrist. Sometimes it is very fine and I can barely see it and sometimes it is a huge thumping twitch that even moves my hand. I saw a neuro a week ago to get checked and at the time I was worried about swallowing problems also, so I was having HUGE anxiety. He did schedule an EMG for next Monday just to try to figure out what is going on. When I left there, I felt a lot better about things. I had myself so worked up and so certain I had *** that I had worked myself into such an anxiety mess. Within a couple of days, my swallowing problems got better. I am still a little anxious until I have the EMG, but I feel a lot more positive about things. I have a history of neck issues that could be contributing to my arm symptoms. Anyway, you are not alone in this. When I read about people mostly having the random twitches, I do get a little nervous knowing mine seems different, but I have to try to stay calm. The anxiety was taking over my life and I hate being like that. It is SO true that anxiety can create a lot of symptoms. I became so fixated in my swallowing that I started not being able to swallow correctly, so I wouldn't eat. When you are anxious, you notice everything that is going on with your body that you normally would just ignore. Know what I mean?Hang in there and I'll let you know my results next Monday and hopefully it will reassure you even more.Take care.

Hi EdadoMy first twitch that I noticed other than an eyelid, was my right thigh. It had been painful for about a week and the doctor sent me for an x-ray. When the pain went away, it started to twitch and did so continually for an entire day or more. After that the twitching seemed to move to my calves continually and sporadically all over.Sandra D

Just to thank you and let you know that thwitch as subsided for the time being, no matter what this should mean anything at all.I most certainly get frequent twitches to my left calf, constant twitches to my right eyelid (for donkey months...), and very frequently to my right tenar eminence. If this may reassure some of you (as myself), last night I decided to go training after a couple of days of rest. I did well and I'm 19 months into twitching.
