Finding Foot Twitches in Flat Feet

Hey everyone-I am trying to find something out that I have been wondering about for a long time. How many people that get foot twitches in the arch/foot have flat/semi flat feet. There is a video on youtube from a memeber here that I talked to today and he seems to have a flatter foot and gets twitches 24/7 that are really bad (his Aboutbfs name is Fraggle and he lives in France). So how many foot twitchers out there think they might have flat feet. I am just thinking the pressure put on the feet makes these twitches be prominent there, expecially for those of us who have flat feet. Also please respond if you had an emg specifically in your foot and where they inserted the needle, I am also curious about this.Thanks!

Hi seanI do not have a flat foot but have my left foot and toe that twitches and cramps alot and yes I have had 9 emgs and 1 said neuropathy but the others did not , I have had my foot done about 4 times. Leigh

I have semi-high arches and twitch in both of them. I had an EMG in one and had only only polyphasic unit show up. Common and nothing to be concerned about according to the neuro.

What does a polyphasic unit mean does anyone know?Leigh

The way it was explained to me was that it showed there was denervation/renervation in that one spot (yeah, freaked me out at first) but my neuro said it was common in the feet because the foot muscles take a beating and it is easy to find one or two spots like this in the feet. Often they will not even do an EMG of the feet because of this. It was only noted once in the foot. Everythig else was clean save for some slowing on the NCV due to some peroneal entrapment around the knee. Yippee!

I have EXTREMELY flat feet, my ankles turn in... my daughter has them too. I now get twitches all over, but only my arches are 24/7 for the last almost 4 months. It is funny, over the holidays, I got a ton of sleep, took two weeks off of work, exercising, kids were home (not rushing to school) and my twitches were MUCH better. Now that i am crazy busy again, they are back with a vengence!
