Exploring Internal Tremor Symptoms

Hi!!For those of you who have experienced buzzing/internal vibration/internal tremor - I wonder at times if we use those terms interchangeably or if they mean different things to different people? I was hoping I could get some of you to describe what you actually feel and how you use those terms and how long your symptoms last? I'll try to explain how I feel and how I use to terms:Internal Tremor - Very distinct feeling that my insides are shaking. Not just a sensation on the skin, but deep inside the muscles or body. For me, can occur body wide, but originally started in just a foot and then leg, or arm, etc. Most noticeable when I'm sitting quietly or laying down. Can happen at any time of the day/night - sometimes wake from sleep with an attack of internal tremoring. The feeling of internal tremor is like the hand or arm want to move, but just aren't. For me, these can last for a minute to hours. This can happen during times of stress, but most often I can't associate it happening with any triggering event. Internal Buzzing/Vibration - I use these two interchangeably. It can be the sensation of a generator/motor running - often perceived to be on the skin or in the muscle (but maybe not as deep as the tremor.) It's often a general feeling of shakiness or unstudiness. It can happen in a foot, leg, arm, trunk, or entire body. Also, most noticeable when sitting quietly or laying down, but I can notice this at times even when active. Again, the length of time varies - can be moments or can last all day. Typically cannot associate this happening with a triggering event.I know others on here have experienced these things - I just find them SO unsettling - and as hard as I'm trying to get a grip these feelings are the thing that keep me anxious about what's happening to my body - I would really appreciate feedback from anyone willing to share their experience. Thanks.

For my part, I get two distinct sensations - one is like the feeling of a mobile phone set to vibrate and the other is like a very rapid, very fine deep muscle twitch. Maybe they're both the same thing, maybe not. One could be sensory and the other could be motor. Either way, I've had them for ages and I just ignore them when I can (which is most of the time). RegardsSimon

Wendy I get the deep 'tremor' sensation you get. Body wide, but feels like it radiates from my chest ( thought I was having heart issues when I first experienced it). Really weird feeling, like a minor earthquake from the inside. Comes and goes, but yes most prominent when sitting or lying quietly ( at bed time for example). Last a few minutes, sometimes longer ( haven't really timed it). And yes not associated with any particular emotional event. The other day I got it just walking down the passage.cheersRodgerPS I also have the mobile phone sensation that Simon talks about (left hip), got used to that now-ignore 'the phone'

Hi, The vibration feeling I get is very similar to yours. However, it eminates from my chest outward. Mine started a year ago before the body wide twitches really took off. I also get the same sensation in my face at times. My doctor prescribed a beta blocker (propranolol) which chilled the vibration feeling out and it also helped with tremors I get in my hands. However, it doesn't seem to help the twitches much. I'm a very high energy person in general so the vibration sensation makes me feel like I'm ready to explode. Very odd!

I'm on a beta blocker too - I was on it when the twitching and tremoring started - I tried going off it during the month of June - my symptoms got even stronger during that time period. I went back on it in the beginning of July and it has helped tone the internal vibrations down some again. I still have the shaking feeling - I hate it it's so disruptive - I'm really trying the approach suggested on here to ignore it or redirect my thoughts elsewhere - hoping that helps me over time begin to notice the sensations less.

I am going through a divorce and recently started dating again. I wondered if my hypernerves could be noticed by someone else. Guess what? I was cuddling with a guy and he suddlenly said, "What is that? It feels like you have a pager going off in your uterus." I honestly didn't feel anything at the time but maybe I am so used to the sensations they aren't noticeable to me all the time. I get a buzzing sensation in my calves that go along with the twitching so I am convinced the vibrations, twitching, and buzzing are all variations on hyperexcited motor nerves. Dating is hard enough without this issue but what choice do I have.
